About Us

What We Believe

At the center of our beliefs is everyone’s need for a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible, which is uniquely inspired by God and absolutely true, reveals God’s plan for this relationship. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, who exists eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each possessing the full attributes of God.

God created us to have an ongoing personal relationship with Him. We, by nature, through our actions and attitudes ignore and reject who God is and His plan for us – the Bible calls this sin. Because God is holy, He cannot accept our sin and this causes our relationship with Him to be broken. The Bible teaches that the penalty for sin is death – which is eternal separation from God.

Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on a cross as our substitute. What this means is that Jesus Christ provided the means by which our broken relationship with God could be completely restored – this is salvation! Salvation comes only through God’s grace and must be received personally by individual repentance and faith.

We also believe Jesus was born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and now acts as the only mediator between us and God. Someday Jesus will return to earth to fulfill God’s plan. Until then, the Holy Spirit equips those who have by faith received God’s grace with spiritual gifting, allowing for growth and service in the local church.

Brief History of CFBC

Early Idaho pioneers Benjamin and Caroline Morrow (great niece of Daniel Boone) founded the church in March of 1876 as Caldwell’s first church. A printed bulletin of the church from March of 1942, states, “We believe in the Inspired Book, the Precious Blood and the Blessed Hope.” We still hold those beliefs: the inspiration of God’s Word, salvation only by the blood of Christ, and the hope of heaven for all who have trusted Christ as Savior. The present building is the fifth one in the history of the congregation.

Our purpose is to glorify Jesus Christ by clearly teaching the scriptures so that the lost are saved and believers are nurtured and equipped to share Christ.

We are an independent church associated with the Conservative Baptist Association of America and with other local and regional CB churches.
