Hi! My name is Laurie Higer and I’m the new church secretary. CFBC has had a special place in my heart since my husband, Kim, proposed to me at the end of a morning service 30 years ago. I love the Lord and our church family and am delighted to get to serve as a part of the staff. My greatest joy is to get to encourage others in their faith and to see younger believers grow and walk with our Savior. I also love to sing and worship the Lord and am excited to get to be a part of the worship ministry at CFBC. Two of my favorite verses are Jeremiah 29:11, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” and 1 Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is He who calls you and He will do it.”

Meghan Conant - Children’s Ministry Director
Hello, my name is Meghan Conant. I joined the CFBC staff in October 2022. My family and I moved to the area from New Mexico shortly before finding this to be our church home. It has been a joy and a blessing how quickly the people of the church have become like family. I have been helping in the church children's department since I was in middle school and have done everything from cleaning toys to being the Children's Ministry Director at my previous church. I became a Christian at a young age and, because of that, I have a desire to help kids grow their faith so that they learn to rely on God throughout their lives. My husband and I homeschool our three kids and we spend our free time exploring the area and working in our yard. My favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." and Psalm 91.
I was blessed to join CFBC in October of 2017. I have been a pastor since 2003, serving in the various roles of Youth Pastor, Family and Discipleship Pastor and Senior Pastor. I lived in Chicago for a time and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute with a BA and from Wheaton College with a MA. I am currently seeking a second MA at Western Seminary. Most of my ministry was in Oregon and my family and I are excited to now be living in Idaho. I was married in 1997 and have 8 children. We have our hands full as well as our hearts! As a family we love to go hiking, play games and generally goof off. I have a passion for spreading the gospel throughout our community and helping believers fulfill every opportunity to live for Christ's glory! I love to preach God's word, striving to preach in a way that is clear and leads to life change. I also really enjoy chatting with people while eating a good taco! The verse that has had the greatest impact on me is Galatians 2:20 (ESV) "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Thida Lopez - Finance Manager
My name is Thida Lopez. My husband, John, and I have been married since 1995 and we have 2 children. I am an Army brat who grew up all over the place. I asked Jesus into my heart at a young age but did not truly walk with Him until my early 30’s. I love to spend quality time with family and friends. I love CFBC because I feel like they are my extended family. Favorite Bible book/verse: PHIL 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Brett Siegalkoff - Senior Pastor
Nathan (Nate) Pickens grew up at CFBC and returned to lead the youth program ten years ago. Nate attended High School locally at VHS and received his Associates in Aviation from Treasure Valley Community college. He then went on to earn a business degree from Northwest Nazarene as well as studying Bible Theology at Moody Bible in Chicago. He sensed a call to ministry after volunteering with the youth program at First Baptist. He and his wife, Katie, are parents to Aiden, Kenna, and twins Jack, and Emry. Nate loves to introduce teens to the love of God through time in Scripture and in the community. Idaho is an amazing backdrop to invite teens into God's creation through hiking, rafting, camping, and climbing. Nate is also involved with local schools where he gets to teach with Launch Pad release time. This is an amazing program that allows local teens to be released from school for a period during their day to study scripture and pray together before being "Launched" back into their day.
